Neighborhood Gem

Now in its third season, the Kamm’s Corners Farmers’ Market is ready for the return of its farmers and vendors. Held from June through October, the market will be open Sundays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Here, local farmers, bakers and honey, meat and cheese purveyors display their wares. New vendors will join the market this year, according to Kamm’s Corners Executive Director Steve Lorenz, who plans to have 15 vendors. Live local entertainment and demonstrations by local chefs will be part of the activity, too. River’s Edge Center and Fairview Hospital will each take part in wellness demonstrations, Rego’s will grill its homemade sausage.

Local Resident

“My favorite thing about living in Kamm’s Corner is being three minutes from everything. The grocery store, drug store, various restaurants, video store, the bank and coffee shop –– we’ve got it all. This is especially important to me because I work out of my home and am always short on time. However, enjoying a freshly pulled Guinness at P.J. McIntyre’s Pub would probably to my list.”

–– John Abbott, owner of Arclight Glasswork

Community revitalization

This summer, there will be even more reasons to visit Kamm’s with the introduction of the Lorain Avenue streetscape improvement project. All of the telephone poles in the project area will be eliminated, and the associated wiring will go underground. New historic lighting poles, new sidewalks, curbs, irrigated planter boxes and public art will be installed in their stead.

Fun Fact

From hot dogs to lobster bisque, Kamm’s is already a destination for its unique and growing selection of dining and nightlife venues. It also abounds with novel destination retail shops that can’t be found anywhere else. Drop by for a visit.
